The Cuck-Cuck-Cuck-Oo-Oo-Oo Bird is the 15th episode of Season 1. It originally aired on 3 November 2006 and was released on DVD volume 4. Out For The Count is next and Takeaway is previous.

Synopsis[]

The episode starts with Four and Three in the gym playing with the Hover Dice. They take turns rolling the Hover Dice. Three rolled a 2 and a 1 while Four rolled a 4 and 5. Three keeps rolling over and over again because she wants to beat Four. Four argues that it is not fair because Three rolled a lot of times and did not take turns.

The alarm sounds and they both rush to the control room. Agent 14 reports a problem. A boy is walking in the wrong pattern. He took three steps with his left leg and three steps with his right leg. They decide that Five was going out.

Somebody was on the sofa, but they ran towards the door even though the Numberjacks did not ring the doorbell. Someone wrote a 55 on a piece of paper and Five landed on the first five.

Five found the boy with problems and the agents figured out the pattern: left, left, left, right, right, right. Before Five could solve the problem, there was another problem at the cafe.

The waitress was putting the utensils down on the table, but she put three knives on the table. The customer was unsatisfied because she could not eat with knives only. But the waitress just switches the knives with forks and then walks away.

The cuckoo clock also had problems. Instead of saying cuckoo, the bird said cuck-cuck-cuck-oo-oo-oo, which is the title of this episode. Then, the Puzzler appeared out of thin air, revealing himself as the meanie of this episode.

The Puzzler told Five to follow him to the pattern place. The Puzzler brings Five to a table with red and blue circles. The pattern on the table was red, red, red, blue, blue, blue. The agents point out that they need to change the pattern to red, blue, red, blue, red, blue. Three fires up the Brain Gain Machine to put things right.

Five receives the Brain Gain and zaps the red and blue circles. The boy can walk normally now, and the waitress puts down a knife and a fork, and a knife, and a fork. The Puzzler then changes the pattern to red, red, blue, red, red, blue. He wants the Numberjacks to guess what will happen.

Five correctly guesses what will happen. The waitress puts down two knives and a fork. The cuckoo bird says cuck-cuck-oo. The Puzzler then gives Five another puzzle, but she isn't allowed to look. The Puzzler changes the pattern again, but the Numberjacks do not know what the pattern is.

Then they saw that the waitress put down two knives, two forks, two knives and two forks. Five found out that the pattern is red, red, blue, blue, red, red, blue, blue. Three sends brain gain to put things right again. Five changes the pattern to red, blue, red, blue, red, blue. Everything was back to normal, and the Puzzler leaves.

Five heads back home and they all watch what happened on the screen. After that, Three comes up with an obviously unfair pattern for their Hover Dice game. Four disagrees and makes the pattern with their Buddy Blocks just to make sure they do not get the pattern wrong. Five then wonders if the viewers can find a pattern like the Buddy Blocks with two colors taking turns, before the episode ends.

Numberjacks' Speech[]

[Alice] That boy couldn't walk properly.

[Laura] And things weren't going well in the cafe, and it was the Puzzler causing all the trouble.

[Oliver] That was a weird place.

[Alice] There are the pattern pieces, making things go wrong.

[Laura] We sorted them out again, but we had more puzzles to solve. We knew what people would do when the pattern pieces changed.

[Oliver] And then we worked out the pattern by watching what people did.

[Alice] And we beat the puzzler.

[All] Hooray!
